Bellevue family Martha Hoyos and Andres Sanchez learned about Manos Unidas Peru through their parish, St. Louise Catholic church via a note in the bulletin to support their book drive for MU. Martha decided to do much more!

She reached out to her children’s preschools, St. Louise and Birchtree Academy, and asked families for donations. She spoke to the school directors and received their support as well. Before she knew it donations were coming in like crazy!

MUI executive director, Celeste Marion, personally received the donations during her visit to Seattle in April and was astounded by the support. More than 15 boxes of toys and learning materials line Marion’s garage, ready to be delivered by UW volunteers in September of this year.

It is the generous support of families  from the Northwest community and volunteers around the world who provide the majority of educational materials for Manos Unidas Peru.

A sincere thank you to Martha and her family, Birch Tree Academy and St. Louise parish for generous support.
