Manos Unidas is proud to welcome Catalina Angel to our board of advisors and Ayllu team. As we are an organization targeted at supporting Latinx families, the voices, experiences and wisdom and Latinx people are vital to our mission.
Catalina is a native of Colombia, South America and moved with her family to the Pacific Northwest in 2009. She holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington and works as a Family Counselor with ChildStrive, an early intervention support services agency for families of children 0-8 yo, in Everett, WA.
Through her life experience as an immigrant parent of an individual with disabilities, she has developed a passion for working with immigrant families in multiple capacities. She has found the way to advocate for the rights of people with disabilities by being a member of the state board of Washington Developmental Disability Endowment Trust Fund (DDETF). We welcome Catalina as a strategic advisor for the development of Ayllu’s video curriculum, specifically on topics related to advocacy and empowerment for Latinx families with children with disabilities.
