2020 has been a year like no other. Given the economic hardship that many Peruvians have experienced this year, Manos Unidas International, for the first time ever, decided to run a campaign to deliver holiday food baskets to all Manos Unidas Peru families + staff. Our intention was to bring joy and food during turbulent times.

Our #givingtuesday goal was to raise $2,100 for 60 baskets and we ended up raising $5,071.46! We were able to gift 80 larger baskets than anticipated, including 5 extra -full baskets for our families in greater need. The recipient list included current student’s families, Manos Unidas Cafe youth and even some former students not engaged with the virtual education program.  20+ MUP staff members were also considered ,including those furloughed and even laid off.  They received a special basket to thank them for their endurance and commitment to our students.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all of the donors who helped make this joyous gesture a reality and for all of you who hold us in your thoughts.
