This summer my sister and I got the chance to spend two months living in Cusco and volunteering at Manos Unidas school. I am currently an Occupational Therapy student so it was great to get lots of experience working with youth with disabilities. I learned a lot and got to spend time with some really awesome kids!! It was fascinating to work in a place so different from where I grew up in Kansas and see things from a new cultural perspective. I hope this experience will help me to better serve and empathize with people from many different cultures in my future career as an occupational therapist. While in Cusco I got to practice my Spanish ALOT. Fortunately, the teachers and host family were all very understanding and patient repeating things and helping me to learn 🙂 This summer was truly an adventure in so many ways!

Celeste – Please tell Profe Tania and Fabiola and all the kids hi for me! Miss you all and best of luck in the future.
