Casey Shea

Masters of Special Education student, University of Washington, Seattle, WA

“While volunteering with Manos Unidas in Cusco, Peru I experienced first-hand the rich educational environment and high quality services available to the children, supporting them in reaching their full potential and achieving successful outcomes in their communities. I would add the welcoming home stay setting, living with Rosanna’s family and fellow volunteers was an enriching element of the trip. Also, from day-one of volunteer work at Camino Nuevo the education staff incorporated us onto the team and expressed their appreciation for our efforts. Having the privilege to participate with MU has help me grow my practice as an educator for exceptional children, as well as built personal character.”

Casey ran the Seattle marathon on November 27, 2016 raising approximately $800 for Manos Unidas.
